A shoot of the evening

Saturday 5th June at “Theater Curci” in Barletta have been assigned the annual Awards promoted by the Associazione Nazionale dei Critici di Teatro (National Association of Theatrical Critics) with the aim to recall the attention of the theatrical world to those more significant events characterizing the theatrical life of this season in Italy. In this 2010 edition the awards have been assigned to Adriana Asti, magnificent interpret of the recent version of “Happy Days” by Samuel Beckett, directed by Bob Wilson; Fabrizio Gifuni has been awarded for his great interpretative and cultural effort in his “L’ingegnere Gadda va alla guerra” [“Engineer Gadda goes to war”]; an award was assigned to Antonio Albanese for his great gallery of human kinds in his “Personaggi”[“Characters”], to Filippo Luna because he was able to change, with sensibility and cleverness, different ranges of performances. He was also awarded because of his monologue in “Le mille bolle blu”[The thousand blue bubbles] where he reached a great synthesis between the play and the actor through emotion and disillusion. An award was assigned to Valerio Binasco for his directorship as well as interpretation of “Sonno”[“Sleepiness”] by the Norwegian author Jon Fosse. Also the play “Col sole in fronte” [“With the sun upon the forehead”] by Maurizio Camilli in the Balletto Civile, the Accademia degli Artefatti have been awarded with the interesting research project by Fabrizio Arcuri. An award was assigned to the brave theatrical season by “Questa Nave”[“This Ship”] in Venice, another to the “Castel dei Mondi” Festival which is an important international foreword position in the international scene, another price was assigned to Arianna Scommegna for her research as actress dealing with difficult female characters, as her last “Cleopatràs”. Manrico Gammarota, solidly defined expressive actor was awarded as Corrado d'Elia, untiring theatrical event organizer but also actor and director in characteristic plays. A special price was assigned to Edizioni Ubulibri of Franco Quadri for its contribution to the theatrical culture. Another was assigned to the play “Otello” by Arturo Cirillo for the originality of the scene, for the interpretation of Jago by the same Cirillo and for the wonderful translation by Patrizia Cavalli. Lluis Pasqual, was awarded as well for being among the most prestigious European directors working in Italy.

A special price was assigned to the Superintendent and Artistic Director of the Scala Theater in Milan, Sthéphane Lissner, because of her courage in the programs choices for the Opera Season 2010.

The prestigious “
Premio Poesio” was assigned to Giuliana Lojodice.

For the “Premi delle Riviste” were awarded Enzo Vetrano and Stefano Randisi, for their magazine “Hystrio”; the director Giampiero Borgia, for “Sipario”, and the puppeteer Mariano Dolci, for “Teatri delle diversità”.
